Outings 2021

Yippee! We are up and running again! Not too sure where to in some cases, or how we’re going to get there, or the date, or the cost, but at least we’re on our way. The Outings Program for the coming months is developing as follows.

Wednesday 24 February   Film at the Waverley Cinema, Pinewood.  Don’t know the film yet, or the time - probably 10.15am, or the cost. Almost certainly no basket luncheons. Put the date in your diary and keep a lookout for information on our Website.

Monday 22 March 6.00pm.  Club’s 28th Birthday Dinner at the Riversdale Golf Club.

Early April – Mitre Tavern & Collins Street Banks Tour – see Advertisement Page 6

Organiser Peter Hibbert (0419 800 122) is working on revival of this outstanding walking tour which was programmed for March last year. The advertisement in this newsletter is last year’s with details such as date, transport, cost, luncheon menu, etc., all yet to be re-negotiated and confirmed. Peter is particularly concerned to arrange transport other than train or tram. If any members wishing to go, happen to be RACV Club members, and are prepared to take 3or 4 passengers parking in the City RACV carpark, Peter would love to hear from you ASAP. Another option being considered is the use of half price taxis – all constructive input into Peter will be much appreciated. Members likely to be interested please register on the Booking Slip at our February meeting even though multiple details have yet to be finalised.

Wednesday 5/6 or 12/13 May -  2 Day Mini Tour  -  See Advertisement  Page11   Creswick – Ballarat Area.  Dinner & O/N Accommodation at RACV Resort Creswick.

Organiser Roy Heeps (0412 744 634) is working on revival of this tour for the possible dates shown. Again, the advertisement is last year’s with details for this year yet to be confirmed.  The largest obstacle so far is the increased cost of the meal and accommodation at the RACV Resort, Creswick. In an effort to minimise this impact, Roy is planning to circulate a questionnaire to all email members, asking, firstly if you/partner/friend are interested in attending and if you are, what rating of RACV membership do you have, club membership  or service membership. This will help in negotiating our final costs. The hope is to average out any such discounts over all attendees to achieve the best overall cost per person for everyone.  If you feel you can help Roy please reply to his survey or be in touch with him any way you like. In parallel with Roy’s email survey, members interested please register on the  Bookings Slip at our February meeting There will also be the survey form available at the February meeting

That’s it for now folks! Our outings team will be meeting mid  February to plan for the rest of the year. Some interesting developments in our Club might have a bearing on considerations.   New Year cheers to everyone!
